Amy and I had the pleasure of attending Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN for the first time ever this past weekend. Last fall while we were at TCM in Minneapolis we were approached by a rep for Grandma's, we were encouraged to attend. We were a little skeptical because of the time of year but decided to give it a try. In my neck of the woods it would normally be really hot. Even though I'm only 5 hours away from Duluth there is a huge difference in climate.
I made the 3 hour drive to Mlps early Thurs morning to pick Amy up from the airport, she flew in from WA. We headed right to Duluth so we could get set up for the Expo which started at 4pm and lasted until 8pm. What a long day that was!! We took a little time to check out Canal Park once it was over, had some supper and off to the hotel to get some sleep. Friday the Expo started at 10am and ended at 8pm. It was a busy day!! So many people! This year was their 40th Anniversary so it seemed to be an extra big celebration. We always enjoy talking to everyone that stops by our booth. Everyone is so friendly:)
Excuse the selfie but we really had no choice since it was just the two of us:)
Notice the coats, it was chilly!
It was a quick but successful trip and the best part, Amy and I got to spend some time alone together which hardly ever happens! We always have lots of laughs and those much needed deep convos.
Until next time-
We asked the question on Facebook, what new colors would you like to see? We narrowed it down to the most popular 3, black with, red, pink and blue stripes. We love expanding the collection! The picture also includes black/purple which we previously had but we were sold out. We now have them back in stock:)
We look forward to continuing to grow Louva!
We are really excited to introduce a couple of new colors to our Sleeve collection! We now have teal with white in adult and black in youth sizes. We have had a lot of requests for boy sleeves so we thought black would be the most neutral for all activities. Adding colors is something that we are anxious to keep doing. If you have any suggestions for colors we would love to hear them! For now our Shorties will remain in black as that seems to be a pretty reliable option for gloves. We look...Read More »
This fall was my second season coaching GOTR. If you are unfamiliar with the program check out the "About Girls on the Run" below. It is a great program! I have really enjoyed getting to know the girls and since I have 3 of my own it is right up my alley! This past Sunday we completed the 5k run. This is the goal that the girls work towards all season. It is a great way for them to show off all of their hard work, most importantly to themselves. Here are a few pictures from the beautiful day!

Girls and Coaches
If you ever have the opportunity to have your daughter be a part of GOTR I highly encourage you to do so! Make it even better and volunteer to be a coach. You just never know the positive impact you will have on these young girls!
Amy is also a coach. Their program is a few weeks behind ours so it will be fun to hear how their season went as well:)
About Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Meeting twice a week in small teams of 8-20 girls, we teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The 24-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.
Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, psychological, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program. At each season's conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5k running event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible, and teaching girls that they can.
Next Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd Amy and I will be at the Twin Cities In Motion Expo! Last year was the first Expo we had ever attended and it was AWESOME! We are so excited to be there again this year. Even better, both of our husbands with be along to help!
Make sure you stop by our booth and get your Sleeves for race day! They are perfect for the cool morning and are easy to shed once you get warmed up. We have new colors this year, but we still have white which is super fun because you can decorate them with Sharpies, or better yet have your family and friends write motivational messages on them to help keep you going:) In addition we have black, black with purple stripes and blue with yellow stripes. We are also keeping our fingers crossed our brand new product will be here in time... The Shortie! The perfect glove to keep your hands warm, but easily slides up on your wrist to save the hassle of dealing with typical gloves. We are all about ease and convenience while running!
We look forward to having another great weekend and hope you stop by and check out Louva!!
Amy & Jodi
We are very excited to be introducing our second product, the Shortie! Amy and I are all about convenience when we are running. The Shortie solves a few problems. Speaking for myself this is my dilemma. Not all of my long sleeve running gear has pockets, in fact I only have one fleece jacket I wear when it gets really cold that does. The Shorties eliminate the need for pockets! My second problem is my hands sweat pretty bad. I need them covered up for the first mile or so but then I'm ready for my hands to be uncovered. Oh wait a minute, I've turned into the wind...my hands are cold again! The Shortie's are so convenient you can slide them up and down as needed! We are sure you will love them as much as we do:)
The Shortie's will be available the first part of October, just in time for the fall season!
We are super excited to be #3 in the Father's Day Gift Guide!
You never know when it might be a cool morning or evening so be prepared and get a pair of Louva arm warmers! You will love the quality as much as the price!
Thank you Runner's World for bringing our product to your readers:)
We are really excited that Women's Running Magazine chose our sleeves as one of their 5 things their staff loved this week!

Thank you Kristan Dietz!
Our girls have been BEGGING us to get Sleeves in their size. So we are really excited that we will be offering kid size sleeves very soon. We are starting with pink because, well, between the two of us we have 6 girls. These Sleeves will fit an average 6 year old up to a small adult. Don't worry moms, we're going to have them in adult size too. 🙂
